My husband has another woman pregnant. We are now separated. What rights do I have for custody & child support?
You have the right to sue him for alimony as well, even though it would probably be like getting blood from a turnip. Since he has demonstrated no real desire to see his child more than on weekends, it would be quite easy to have custody limited to just that and maybe a week or two during the summer. He will not be denied visitation rights so forget that. But they can be limited. Filing for divorce is no big deal and should be done ASAP. Lawyers can wait for the money, just give them a small retainer to get things rolling. Without legal separation papers, it makes it hard in some states to get things moving in a timely manner towards a divorce action and final decree.
