How can I stay motivated in the Military?

I get the same pay check as other people of the same rank no matter how much work I do. Also, I hate kissing butt and being fake. I'm not motivated and I could care less about the other people at work. I like doing a good job, but whenever I put in extra time at work nobody notices. They just continue to treat me like crap anyways. It seems more political then anything, and I'm not buddy buddy with anybody at work. Should I work hard for what seems no reason, or shoul I continue not to care and risk never being respected, if that even matters?
