What's your opinion on this (ex)boyfriend situation?

Uh I think you did the right thing breaking up with him. Ive dated guys like him and trust me.. they dont get any better. Sounds to me like hes immature and needs to grow up a bit.. hes still stuck in kid mode. Also.. any guy thats gonna call you names really isnt worth your time. Abuse always starts with name calling and goes from there... Again.. you did the right thing. Sure it may hurt right now but trust me.. there are much better guys out there than this one. Keep your chin up!!
